2024 IMPORTANT NATIONAL TRIP NOTES
All athletes that did not fill out the
national meet wavier form must do so and bring it to the bus. If you are a high school runner &/or did not attend the meet in Grain Valley on November 10th, we must have these so that we can complete registration at the meet on Friday.
All runners must fill out a
YES-Athletics membership form each cross country season. You must bring the membership form with you to the bus if you have not bought one already this year. The cost for your YES-Athletics membership is included in the cost of the trip.
You must bring a copy of your birth certificate, passport or driver's license to show proof of age if you have not participated with the team at nationals in the past.
You will
hand in your YES-Athletics membership form, national meet waiver, proof of age and money for the trip at the bus
in a sealed envelope with your name on the outside if you have not already done so.
NOTE: Anyone that is driving separately and did not race at Grain Valley on November 10th, MUST email their YES-Athletics membership, their national meet waiver and their proof of age (if they have not run with us at nationals in the past) to Coach Ramsey ASAP. He must turn them in at the same time at registration when we arrive at the meet.
It is essential that you have a pair of plain red shorts with no trim as part of your uniform. The logo is the only thing that can be another color. We have several extra but if you want your own you had better get them now.
Those not riding the bus need to let Coach Ramsey know if they need rooms.
DO NOT CALL the team hotels for rooms as he has reserved all of them. He would prefer that everyone stay with us at the team hotel. He also strongly encourages everyone, especially the athletes, to ride the bus. The bus trip to the national meet is especially important to build team unity but more importantly build friendships for life!
If you are going to nationals and have not contacted Coach Ramsey, please do so immediately as he needs to get your entry in and make all the necessary arrangements for the trip.
Also, if you haven't confirmed with Coach Ramsey that you are going you must do so ASAP.
REMEMBER to bring your team backpack that you received at nationals in the past. Those that are running for the first time with the team will get theirs at equipment check-out on Friday night before the national meet this year to take with you to the starting line. If you lost yours, a new one is $10.
PLEASE GET SPRING WATER for the bus in your water bottle on Thursday and bring an extra bottle. Most types of spring water will work except
DO NOT GET SMART WATER OR OZARKA. Coach Ramsey would prefer Ice Mountain, Crystal Geiser, Fiji or Evian if possible. He will provide all the water needed for Friday and Saturday.
NOTE: The first ever Brocaw Blazers Imaginary Olympics will be held Saturday night at the team hotel. This will be a team competition with prizes being awarded for creativity. You are tasked with making people believe that your team is competing in an Olympic competition in any event that you choose. Everyone is encouraged to let their imaginations go and start planning with your age group team. See if you can impress Coach Ramsey and his fellow judges. I have it on good authority that many of the parents will be participating as well!
